Overview

StudyOverlay Pro (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a macOS study assistant and this customer portal at staging.yashyp.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information — email address and authentication credentials managed through Supabase Auth when you create or sign in to your account.
• Subscription and billing data — plan, subscription status, and payment history processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
• Device information — device identifiers, display name, and activation status for the Mac linked to your account.
• Usage data — basic service logs such as request timestamps, feature usage, and error reports needed to operate and improve the product.
• Screen capture text — when you use capture features, text extracted from your screen (via OCR) and related prompts may be sent to our servers for AI processing. This content is processed server-side to generate suggestions and is not used to train public models.

How we use your information

We use collected data to:

• Authenticate you and manage your account
• Provide AI-assisted suggestions and related app features
• Process subscriptions, trials, and billing
• Enforce device limits and protect against abuse
• Respond to support requests and improve reliability

Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to run StudyOverlay Pro:

• Supabase — authentication, session management, and account storage
• Stripe — subscription billing and customer portal
• DeepSeek — AI processing of text you submit through the app for generating suggestions

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only what is necessary to deliver the service.

Data retention

We retain account and billing records while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and fraud-prevention obligations. Screen-capture text sent for processing is retained only as long as needed to complete the request and maintain short-term operational logs, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Your rights and choices

You may update your email or password from the Account page. You may delete your account at any time from the Account dashboard, which cancels billing and removes access. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data — contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
